The Kindle 4 is now available to buy. We can’t believe the price and we can’t believe all the different options that are available either. Beginning at just $79 it seems too good to be true. The new small Kindle is such a great deal it is almost impossibly cheap. There are now lots of great Kindle covers also available too.

The Kindle touch is also an amazing deal and there is no doubt that it is going to be extremely popular. But the Kindle Fire is also of interest. For such a low price is allows us to read color Kindle magazines or books as well as having full Internet access as well. Amazing.

Let’s take a look at some features:

Kindle 4 Features

Although there are a number of new Kindles now released it is the consensus that the small and very lightweight Kindle is the actual Kindle 4 so let’s start there.

The small Kindle is lighter than ever before. It is less than 6 oz in weight and although smaller we get the same screen size. This is because the keyboard has been done away with. It means we get the lightest possible Kindle ever. If we do want the keyboard then not to worry, there is a virtual one that can be brought up on the screen.

We get to store 1500 books and can now even borrow books from the library too. Amazing.

PLUS we get the month long battery life that we all love too.

The Kindle touch is our next option and this is again very light. It has double the capacity in terms of book storage and battery life too. A great deal and if you want a touch screen then it is the perfect option for you. So many of us now use touch devices and there is no doubt it is very convenient.

Finally we have the Tablet, the Kindle Fire. Use our links at the top of our page for more details. This is a full Tablet that has touch, full color for books and magazines and so much more. We can watch movies, go online and use apps. A great device, and again a low price makes it almost irresistible.

Below is what was written before the new Kindle 4 options were announced:

The Kindle 4 is certainly anticipated so let’s take a look at just what we already know and what we are, in all likelihood, going to actually get. Don’t forget to sign up via the form to the right to be notified as soon as the Kindle pre-order option is available. If you don’t get on the pre-order list then you will probably be waiting months after its release before you receive it. We don’t want to miss out do we?

Kindle 4 Specs

From what we can gather the Kindle 4 is certainly going to have an even better screen resolution than previous models. With technology moving on so fast there is simply no doubt that it will be much improved.

Color Kindle 4

There now seems little doubt that the new release is going to be a color kindle. In fact we can pretty much guarantee that this will be the case. There are also rumors of a touch screen as well but it does now seem most likely that this will be used only for the new Amazon tablet that is due out this year too. Certainly exciting times are ahead for those that are interested in the Kindle and other releases that Amazon make.

Kindle Reader

The Kindle reader is certainly going to be the most popular e-book reader that there has ever been. With sales of the Kindle 3 making it the most popular current model we can be sure that Amazon’s new release is going to be even better.

Kindle 4 2011 Release Date

The Kindle 4 release date seems to be set for some time after September. And this does seem most likely, just as the Kindle 3 was released around this time in 2010. Eagerly anticipated a new color Kindle 4 is going to really allow a much wider audience to use it. It can be sued to read magazines and any other color medium that until now has meant that many have held off from buying the Amazon Kindle.

Stay tuned as we will be giving any news a priority and we will certainly let you know the minute that we hear of a pre-order date. This will be a must if we want to buy it as soon as it comes out, otherwise we could well have quite a wait on our hands.

The color Kindle is now available as well as new Kindle covers. An amazing tablet called the Kindle Fire, and all for only $199! Incredible. This color Kindle tablet is perfect for those that want a low cost tablet made by the most trusted brand in the world. Let’s take a closer look at the Kindle color:

Color Kindle Tablet

The Kindle Fire color Kindle tablet is simply amazing. The value for money is frankly incredible.

For under $200 we get a tablet that can do so much.

Full color

Touch screen Kindle

Read books and magazines in color

apps

Incorporate email

Surf the Web

Watch movies

Listen to music

and more

Kindle Movies

When we buy we get a free Prime account for the first month. This has over 10,000 movies and tv shows that we can then stream to our Kindle Fire. We can watch on the Kindle or send to our tv too.

We also have the option to buy over 100,000 movies and shows from the Amazon store too. We can either stream live or download to watch at our pleasure.

Kindle Music

Over 11 million songs are available to buy. Again we can download or stream.

Kindle Touch

The touch screen makes using the tablet a dream. Simple yet very fast this is perfect for convenience and speed of use.

Apps

We get a free app a day and we also have the Amazon apps store to buy all the popular apps, and for great low prices too.

Silk Browser

Amazon have developed their own unique browser call Silk. It stores data in the Amazon cloud so that the speed is lightening fast. It is the most advanced browser for Tablets available and exclusive to Amazon.

We can also integrate our email accounts to access as and when needed.

All of this and so much more makes the new color Kindle a must have for any Kindle fans.

Below you can see what we thought was going to be released, written before we knew what we were actually going to get:

As the Kindle color release date 2011 looms ever closer there is more speculation than even before about just what the exact specs are going to be. The Kindle 4, if the color Kindle is to be the 4th generation Kindle, is due out by either the end of the Summer or some time in October, rankly sources keep changing their minds about the exact date.

What is up for debate currently is if the color Kindle 2011 is actually going to be a Kindle as we know it or more of a Tablet. From what we have heard it seems that Amazon will be releasing Tablets and Kindles this year and rumors keep changing about exactly what is to come out.

Color Kindle Or Amazon Tablet

The main speculation centers around if the color option is going to be a regular Kindle just in color or a Tablet that has all the features we associate with such devices. A Tablet will give full Internet capability and will have a touch screen, something a lot of people are very interested in acquiring.

But what about the classic Kindle 3 style we have come to love?

The simplicity of the Kindle 3 is what makes it such a hit. If we had all the current options as well as a color option then this may well be enough to satisfy most people.

Color Kindle Rumors

Currently the rumors are that as well as Amazon releasing a tablet they are going to release 2 new Kindle versions. It seems that screens are already being produced.

We are most likely going to see a color option as well as a simple updated version of the current Kindle 3 with better specs. But touch screen is also an option.

All of this remains to be changed, rumors could be totally wrong, and we will frankly not know for sure for a little while yet, but the new color Kindle is certainly going to be available in one form or another, there is little doubt about that.

Personally something with a touch screen would be ideal, it is one of the great features of tablets. But having to sacrifice the weeks long battery life to have a touch screen?

Ah, decisions, decisions. The color Kindle is going to be here though.

With so many new Kindles to choose from, the job of finding the best Kindle cover, case or sleeve just got a whole lot harder! If you’re having issues trawling through the huge array on offer fear not, we’re here to help, with our pick of the crop; the best new Kindle covers on offer today:

And, if you couldn’t care less why I think these are the best covers available, you can find them all here.

Right then, if you’re still here I’ll show which I believe are the best cases and covers around today…

Best Kindle 4 Cover

With the latest ebook reader itself being so small and lightweight, it seems a shame to keep it in a heavyweight book style jacket. Instead we suggest you check out the slim Kindle 4 sleeves from Built. Pictured is their most popular “ScatterDot” pattern, but if you want something a little more manly they do come in plain black, or bright red (so bright in fact, you’ll never lose your Kindle again! ).

There isn’t much we can say about these really, that isn’t pretty obvious from one quick look! These are really simple, and that’s why we like them so much I guess.

The corners are curved which in theory at least offers the device inside extra protection where it is most needed. They’re pretty thick neoprene which means they are pretty well padded, and of course of a little protection against spills (am I the only one who always seems to spill their coffee when engrossed in a book?).

I think the price could be a little lower, but it isn’t bad for the quality (though I do wish the stitching was a little neater all the way around the top seam on mine!). For a device that costs as little as $79 it seems a little extravagant (and possibly silly) to pay too much for a case, the Built neoprene Kindle 4 sleeve just about comes in under budget. So if you want something that keeps your ebook reader cozy and safe, but gets out of the way completely when you want to actually have a read, check them out!

Ultimate Kindle Touch Cover

Well, this is a tough one. The Built sleeve above will work just fine for your touch-screen Kindle. But, if you want something a little bit special, and super practical I think it’s worth having a look at the new lighted Kindle covers on offer.

Reviews on the new design lighted covers are very divided – you will either love it or hate it! Personally I love the design, love having a light tucked away for use whenever I need it (and not relying on additional batteries to power it), but I hate the price tag. At just under $60 it is pricey.

Whether you can justify the cost is up to you. But, if you do choose the lighted Kindle Touch cover I hope you like it as much as I do. It works very differently to previous versions. Now inside the back cover is shaped to hold the ebook reader. You push it into place, and there it stays. There are no hooks or hinges to mess around with, and I think this is a massive improvement over models for the earlier readers.

One issue that might concern some, is that the cover doesn’t have a way of being secured shut. If your purse is as cluttered as mine, you might want to consider whether this could pose a problem for you.

Still though, if you like your Kindle, to feel more like a real book this is the best book style jacket on the market at the moment. The feel is lightweight, but without being cheap, and very little bulk is added to the device itself. And, that light is really the key reason to buy this particular style case.

Greatest Case for the Kindle Fire Tablet?

And, the winner is this lightweight shell from Marware. Again, with the Kindle Fire itself being so light and dinky it seems a shame to add too much in the way of extra weight and bulk. I was torn between an envelope sleeve and this micro-shell. In the end the ability to stand the Kindle tablet up for watching Movies swung it for me!

The folio style case makes sense when using a tablet, after all they are heavier than ebook readers, and there are plenty of times when you will want to use them “hands-free”.

Many I looked at, add too much bulk, which is okay when you’re watching a Movie I guess, but really annoying if you want to read something and actually hold the tablet in your hands. the Marware Kindle fire case is the best compromise.

True, it won’t feel like the highest quality cover you’ve ever had, but that’s because it is designed specifically to be really light. With a thin polycarbonate layer to absorb shocks, coated in felt on the interior and rubberised outside it is modern and practical. There will be far more protective cases out there, but for practical use of your Fire tablet, they tend to “get in the way”. I like that this case holds the device neatly without adding anything really to either the profile, or the front of the device itself.

Simple, slick, the Marware shell for the Kindle Fire is a winner (well in my book anyway!).

I do still rather like the envelope sleeves too though!

Choosing Kindle Covers

No doubt my favorite Kindle covers won’t suit everyone. But I hope they have given you some ideas on what to consider, before simply choosing the cheapest, or prettiest case you come across! The key reasons to chose one cover over another are;

Whether you want a cover attached whilst using the device or not.

Just how clumsy are you really?

Personalisation – if you live in a multi Kindle household like ours it is critical you get a different case for yours!

How handy will a light be for you?

Do you need a stand to read “hands-free”?

Oh and of course, never forget to double check the price tag too!

That’s right the New Kindle 4 is now with us, as well as lots of new Kindle covers, and sales have been incredible. We have already got our hands on the small newest Kindle 4 and quite honestly it is amazing. It is the small version that is being called the Kindle 4 but there are other releases too.

The Kindle fire tablet is out of this world and the touch screen Kindle is a thing of beauty too. The one that arrived for us today is amazing. Not only is the screen the same size as our old Kindle 3 but it is 30% lighter too. The keyboard now comes up on the screen rather than being at the bottom like the image to the right of the Kindle 3.

It means it can actually fit in your pocket!

Here it is in all its glory:

It is simplicity itself to use and will hold 1500 books and only needs to be charged once a month. It is amazing how light it is and it is certainly a lot more user friendly than our previous model. Having it smaller simply makes it easier to handle.

Before we got it and it was released we speculated on what the Kindle 4 was going to be. You can read about our ideas below in the original article.

The new Kindle 4 is definitely going to be something a little bit different to the Kindle 3. It is now seeming more and more likely that the new release is going to be a form of tablet. Actually there may well be two tablets.

From what can be gathered online it seems that a Kindle 4 is going to be a touch screen and color Kindle more akin to an iPad than a basic e-book reader.

For many this is great news but others simply want an updated Kindle 3 that will have a color option. It is too early to tell exactly what is going to be released but as soon as we know for definite we will let everyone know. Join the growing list of people waiting for news by subscribing to the updates via our form to the right.

Then, as soon as a pre-order option becomes available we can let you know. Otherwise there is a strong chance that if you want to buy you will have to wait months after the release. Just like for the Kindle 3, interest will be so high that those not on the pre-order list will more than likely miss out initially.

I certainly am not going to miss out. Are you?

What Will The Kindle 4 Be Like?

From what I can gather it seems that we may well get FREE VIDEO STREAMING! This is already available for Amazon Prime members and it seems very likely this is going to be at least a feature of the Tablet Amazon will be releasing. It is hard to tell exactly what the new Kindle 4 really actually means at the moment but we certainly do not have long to wait now.

An August release date for the first of the new products seems almost guaranteed so we may well find that before then the pre-order option becomes available.

Interesting times are certainly ahead so let’s not miss out and let’s get to the front of the queue.

It seems that we are set for an August release date for the Amazon Kindle 4, or at least a tablet. According to Digitimes and other online resources it seems a major leak confirms that we will be able to buy either an Amazon Kindle 4 or an Amazon tablet before the end of the Summer.

Sign up via our form to be notified the minute it becomes available to order. If you remember the Kindle 3 release in 2010 then you will recall that as soon as it was available to buy it was out of stock and we had to wait months to actually get it shipped. I for one will not be missing out this year. I will be signing up for the pre-order option as soon as it becomes available for the new Kindle 4. And I encourage you to do the same.

You will then receive an email when you can place your order. Who wants to be left out once it is available? I don’t.

Amazon Kindle 4 Release 2011

The Kindle 4 or a tablet, we are still not sure exactly what it will be, is going to be ready in August, as long as the strong rumors are true.

What date it will be is any one’s guess but the time is getting near and it is beginning to get exciting to see exactly what is going to be made available.

A lot of people are looking forward to a color Kindle or a touch screen option,. if it is a tablet version of the Kindle then it will certainly mean both.

A Kindle 4 pre-order option is set to be with us very soon indeed. So that you don’t miss out we have set up a mailing list so that we can let you know the day this happens. The Kindle 4 is going to be hugely popular and if we do not get on the pre-order list then the chances are very high that it will be months before our order is shipped.

It seems surprising but if you remember 2010 when the Kindle 3 was released then you know exactly what to expect. Last year once you could actually just order the Kindle it was not in stock and it was months before orders shipped. But if we get on the pre-order list then we can pretty much guarantee that we will get the Kindle 4 the day it ships.

Exciting indeed.

Ensure that you get your new Kindle 4 pre-order in as soon as possible to make certain that you do not have to wait months. We will let you know as soon as we hear that this option is available, but not until I get my order in first

From recent whispers online it seems that we only have to wait until August for the first new release from Amazon this year. It may be a tablet or something more akin to a new Kindle so there is not long to wait at all. If it ships in August then it may be July when the actual pre-order option becomes available, if not even a little bit earlier so expect to hear form us very soon indeed.

Many people are in a bit of a quandary, do we wait for the new Kindle 4 to arrive or do we buy the Kindle 3? There is certainly no doubt that the Kindle 3 offers a lot of great features, and the price is now lower than ever before. Amazon have set up a special low price for the Kindle 3 with some unobtrusive advertising and sales have gone through the roof.

See the amazing low price here

That low price certainly makes it a very affordable e-book reader.

Buy Kindle 3?

So, to buy the Kindle 3 or not?

The final decision is simply going to come down to what you feel you need from an e-book reader. The Kindle 3 provides everything that we need if we simply want a way to store and access our books in a very readable format. The technology that makes the Kindle so much like reading a paperback is what owners love, and it is certainly very realistic.

And currently we simply do not know exactly what we are going to get from the new Kindle 4. With so many rumors about what Amazon are going to come out with next we could wait around for a long time before we finally make a decision.

Kindle 3 Price

But what we do know is that there is going to be a release of the Kindle 4 and also an Amazon tablet and color Kindle at some point in 2011, or early 2012. We simply need to decide what we want out devices to be for. The tablet is never going to be a replacement for the Kindle, battery life won’t allow it, and neither will screen technology. So, for those that want a good quality e-book reader the Kindle is the best option.

The Kindle 4 is touted to be a color option, touch screen has even been discussed. If that is what you really want then it may well be worth waiting until near to the end of the year to buy a new release rather than a Kindle 3. But for those that simply want a very cheap, but high quality e-book reader, the best on the market, then the Kindle 3 is certainly more than going to live up to expectations.
